No takers for Wages of tears

TimePosted by Varsha Pillai at 02:30 PM, Nov 22, 2006 in India

Hundreds of children are forced to work in hazardous conditions in Mumbai, while many of them die an early death.

I'm glad to see that there is somebody who cares about this issue, and willing to do something about it. I wish it gets the attention and support it truly deserves. The common man needs to be aware of this issue, and steps need to be taken to ensure that every child gets the childhood that comes once in a lifetime. Excellent work.

I look forward to the Government purchasing the rights of this film and take it onto big screens free-of-tax to spread the awareness on high scale. Hats-off to the efforts of the researchers and producers.

This is a very serious issue which needs to be given more attention. When we can show one child stuck in the borewell for more than 12 hrs we can definetely rise for this cause.

all have a praise for such type of work but here no one to come forward to give their support in all aspect ie. physical, mental, physiological, financial. so come forward and show that you are also the part of this fight…..

Serious documentaries always face serious problems on marketing front. We all are tax payer and have right to demand our elected government to give space to serious issue based films. If Government is not acting why not a responsible channel like yours take responsibility to take care of such efforts.

If media helps and you dont find any takers sell it on net. declare the some ratio for the kids also.
Hopefully we get to see something good in the middle of this sex and violence based industry.
Talk to the govt. for making it tax free..I know its tough but if he has chosen a project which is daring enough he has to work hard..

How paradoxical on one hand laws are getting enacted on the other hand we have such pooor implementation of the existing laws...
Do we need more laws , I think no , we don't ,an enlightened society can very well prevent such atrocities from happening, isn't it quite first of all never use child labour at personal level, secondly if u see someone using the same , tell that person about the negative impact of this and how u feel so very strongly against it and stop patronizing such people....

Isn't it all dependent on ur will....
